Busy Mum is Overweight No More and Hasn’t Had Flare Ups
I’ve always been in overweight as a size 14/16 but I was, for the most part of my teens and 20s, very fit due to playing a lot of sports. To be honest, I ate a lot of processed foods, chocolate, coffee, wine and takeaways, I cringe now as this was somehow the way I treated myself when I was happy, sad, tired or stressed. When I hit my 30s, I was diagnosed with an autoimmune condition which meant many courses of steroids over the last 6 years to keep it at bay. Coupled that with becoming a mum of two, the weight piled on. Five months after my son was born last year, I was very unhappy with where I was at and knew I had to change my actions and mindset if I seriously wanted to do something about it. I am almost back to the same size as my early 20s, I have lots of energy, confidence and I haven’t had any flare ups with my health, which is probably the best part.
I used to think I could never achieve any of the results I wanted, and I was initially skeptical I would have the motivation to commit to something like this from an online program. The thing that has made this a success for me, was that it was easy to change my nutrition and exercise into everyday habits and it is sustainable with a very busy life.
I enjoy the flexibility for workouts of finding a window of time that suits my day, even around two kids, running a household and a full time job. The workouts seem to go so fast and I look forward to them as I see them as my “me time”. I love that I don’t have to find the time to get to the gym, I can do it all from the comfort of our home.
